Performance

Black Cat Cafe in Irvington, NY with our good friends Paul Harris (on flute) and Andrew V. Craig

There's nothing so humbling as playing farmers' markets, especially when it's the last market of the season and you have to wear gloves while tuning up.

Songwriting

At Dar Williams' summer songwriting retreat in Garrison, NY

One of our favorite (and most productive) places to work on our music is the house we rent for a week each October in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. (Note the third old dog on the deck with Jim.)

Other houses, other weekends, other songs.  In one house, the writing was on the wall. In another, we left the writing on the fridge.

Personal

We got an early start, although Mark didn’t pick the guitar up again until years later. And Jim has no memory of that banjo. He does, however, remember the cap.
